Man such a topic to tackle. I have to admit I am a bit conflicted with the whole social studies situation. Both you(Ms.Ferrell) and Heather brought up good points for both sides of the argument. However, I really do not understand how the teacher did not think someone would find that offensive. It seems like the Pentagon is recruiting more than just foreigners for wartime duty. I believe her message was lost in the deliverance. The impact from slavery in the U.S. continues to carry emotional scares and although we need to continue to remember that this is part of our history. We need to be aware of how we illustrate the realism. It was a poor lack of judgment on the teacher’s part to use young black children. I believe she would have had a greater impact had her reverse roles and let the other student feel what blacks felt at that time and today. I believe she wo

im sorr but i feel that it was disrespectful for that teacher to do that. i dont think she was being racist but that was a terrible time in our history and i dont think no black person would want to reinact it no matter if it was a lesson or not, and as for foriengers i dont fell like it was nothing wrong with that.
