Dr. Joseph E. Marshall, Jr. is the co-founder and Executive Director of Alive & Free/Omega Boys Club youth development and violence prevention organization headquartered in San Francisco that emphasizes academic achievement and nonviolence. In addition to being an author, lecturer, radio talk show host, and community activist, he is the founder of the Alive & Free Movement dedicated to eliminating violence worldwide, which is active in the United States, Canada, South Africa, Haiti, Botswana and Thailand. Dr. Marshall is the recipient of the Macarthur genius award for his work in the field of youth violence and in 2015 is celebrating his 200th college graduate.
