The Trauma and Resilience of African American Female Veterans with PTSD

Many times as African American women we are expected to hold up the banner of strength and resilience without ever discussing our trauma, hurts, pains and scars. As military women, that expectation is even greater as we are trained to put mission above all else. We are so busy hiding the vulnerabilities that we take hits and suffer in silence in ways most people around us would never realize. It is my mission today to break that silence and allow the public to listen in to a candid discussion on this topic.
