Anthony deLise is an award-winning American composer, pianist, and percussionist. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and at age six moved with his family to rural Pennsylvania where he attended the public schools and began his music study. Louis’ first album as featured artist, Natural Light, was released in 2019. Natural Light earned a top-ten chart position on the Zone Music Reporter (ZMR) charts and was nominated as “Best Neoclassical Album” by the One-World Music Awards (OWM Awards). That same year, both the ZMR, and Enlightened Piano Radio (EPR) nominated him as “Best New Artists.” Natural Light included performances by Jeff Oster and Grammy-winner, Nancy Rumbel. Also in 2019, the National Flute Association (NFA) named Louis’ flute concerto, Salone del Astor, “Best Newly Published Mixed Duet.” Flutist Joan Sparks, who premiered Salone at the NFA’s 2019 convention in Orlando, Florida, commissioned the concerto. Louis’ varied career has included simultaneous assignments working as an orchestral and studio musician and work producing, arranging and conducting for dozens of major label recordings. He has arranged and conducted orchestras on two charting albums for Grammy-winner, Patti LaBelle, arranged for Grammy-winner, Peter Nero, and arranged and conducted for the Grammy-winning band, Halestorm. Dr. deLise was Adjunct Lecturer of Theory and Composition at the Boyer College of Music and Dance (in Philadelphia). He is the author of The Professional Songwriter, a textbook on songwriting.
