Yesterday morning, NCEBC posted a picture with a quote: "The greatest danger to our future is our apathy." Little did we know that less than 24 hours later, George Zimmerman would be found not guilty for the killing of Black teenager Trayvon Martin in Florida.

Now what?

In light of this news, NCEBCTalkRadio is shifting gears - slightly - for this week's radio show. Please join us for a candid conversation about the realities (old and new) of what is needed to protect our children from the violence and prejudices that are inflicted upon them.

Our featured guest is Dr. Raymond Winbush, Clinical Psychologist and Director of The Warrior Institute (Morgan State University).  We'll also welcome the candid insights:

  • Mrs. Diana Daniels, Executive Director of the National Council on Educating Black Children
  • Dr. George McKenna, Renowned Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent
  • Dr. Gwendolyn Cooke, Retired Superintendent, Kansas City Public Schools
  • Ms. Zakiyah Ansari, Mother of 8 and Advocacy Director for the Alliance for Quality Education

Our series host Dr. Nicole McZeal Walters, Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, School of Education at University of St. Thomas-Houston, will be in the studio facilitating conversation, taking your calls live, and aiming to keep our dialogue sincere and solution-oriented.

Please join us.
