We are keeping it real this week with our show, History's Lost Black Towns. We go back in time and revisit towns like, Rosewood Florida, Seneca Village New York, Black Wall Street Oklahoma, and Allensworth California. The towns were set up as safe havens for African Americans, and thrived. It was in most cases, the surrounding white communities which took issue with the communities self sufficiency. In some cases they were isolated economically and could not sustain themselves. Rosewood Florida and the Black Business Community in Oklahoma were targeted by disgruntled whites and openly attacked. This is a history lesson you will not want to miss. Tune in and Listen Up!! This show is dedicated to the memory of Kerry Baxter Junior, whose life was stolen on January 16, 2011. Rest in Peace Beloved Grandson!
