Monday to Friday's "Stop Child Abuse Now" (SCAN) and Sunday's "Community Matters" This Week feature Bill Murray, the nationally respected public safety and child abuse prevention, intervention and recovery advocate. Bill is founder of the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA), a 501(c)3. Originally he was best known for Los Angeles Community Policing (LACP), his reaction to the events of 9-11-2001. Bill's web site (LACP.org) has been continuously published since early 2002, and is the world's largest grassroots nonprofit effort devoted to community-based policing. In 2009, Bill launched the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (NAASCA.org) as a grassroots effort, one based on his personal life experienced. "Very few adults escape years of severe childhood sexual abuse, pre-pubescent X-rated photography, sex trafficking, and a two week long kidnapping," Bill writes. "But I have, and for some 35 years I've been in recovery from its devastating effects. Once my parents were gone, I decided to devote my remaining time, money and available energy to this vitally important cause." After years of operating as a grassroots, all volunteer effort, and with over 2500 BlogTalkRadio shows in the ever-growing library, NAASCA became a public charity .. a 501(c)3 .. where the single purpose is to address issues related to childhood abuse and trauma including sexual assault, violent or physical abuse, emotional traumas and neglect from two specific perspectives: 1) educating the public, and 2) offering hope for healing and services to adult survivors. Join our hosts six-nights-a-week (all but Saturday), at 8pm EST (7pm CEN, 6pm MTN, 5pm PAC) for solution oriented discussions about the many issues of child abuse and trauma. These shows always include panel discussions, LIVE chat rooms, and frequent call-in participation.

Tonight's special guest is Stacy Stover from Kansas City, Missouri, a returning NAASCA family member who's a child abuse and domestic violence survivor, an activist and mother. "I've got a story to shock all child abuse advocates," she says. And she's been searching for someone to help her tell it. "I only dream of the day I can put all this behind me, and start healing with my girls, helping free others of the demons on this earth." Last year, Stacy reported she was embroiled in a difficult marriage and was trying to extricate herself and her kids from her husband's control. Stacy's story now includes the critical situation she currently faces: her baby has been taken from her because she left an abusive man who wanted to continue to control her. After leaving her husband, Stacy found out he is a convicted child abuser. Stacy's paid attorneys did nothing to fight for her or to show these facts. She states, ?when I fired my first attorney, my ex's lawyer filed a motion to get me back in court without representation, which I tried to motion verbally … and got kicked out of the courthouse and he was given sole custody of my daughter... since then my daughter has had rug burns on her back and a red irritated potty that the supervisor verbally stated she's [noticed] but says she's not going to report it and doesn't turn the pics over to law enforcement... something is going on and they are covering it up.? There have only been her husband's allegations that Stacy is an unfit mother, even though she has passed every drug test she's taken, and important information and photos showing possible sexual abuse of her daughter go unreported by her attorneys and the child's welfare supervisor.
