Gwen aka Jubilee grew up in a Southern Baptist Church in her home town in Houston Texas she knew scriptures and Bible stories but didn't know God and have a full relationship with God and that lead to a life unfulfilled and lacking hope. After she left Texas she would marry a music producer and musician by the name of Terry Lewis and later moved to the Twin Cities in the mid 80s. Her first exposure to the music business or industry was doing session work and back ground singing.

Jubiilee recall having phone conversations with her grandmother and her grandmother asking her if she had found a church yet since relocating to Minnesota, she would tell her no Grandma I haven't found a church yet. Even though she had visited some churches she was not a member at any particular one because it wasn't like her home church. The couple eventually did divorce in a 1990 s in the next 10 years will prove to be some of the hardest years that you believe what face in her life during that time I was involved in unhealthy relationships and started drinking a lot in states of lost a lot of people and loved ones in my life that were very important people to me name because it made me think of joy and that's one of the fruit since giving my life to Christ and people always tell me I'm happy and smiling . Her CD title comes from a life of I will not be defeated and the CD is based upon a life motto I will not be defeated because I have the victory because God fights my battles for me currently still resides in the Twin Cities with her youngest daughter and is a member at Spirit of Faith Christian Center located in Northeast Minneapolis under the leadership of dr. Timmey Williams.
