THEOLOGICAL THEMES IN THE BOOK OF MATTHEW.

Mtthew Understanding Of Jesus.

Jesus is a genuiene human being, a feature that is simply taken for granted and therefore in danger of being overlooked.

2.  Matthew uses the same titles at Mark, such as Jesus, Christ and son of God.  The name Jesus is asociated with Salvation, Jesus' Role as Messiah. Is brought out by the magi for the King of the Jews ( Mat 2.2,4 )

3 King is also used as the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and with reference to his future judgement Role.

4. Jesus is also given the Messianic title "Son Of David."

5.  He is frequently addressed as Lord (Kyrie)  by sympathetic, committed people.  Although this more than a formal title of respect.
