We all love our kids, can we come together over that?

Sitting with a fellow parent, we talked about the team, school, the economy, and our jobs.  I could hear other parents cheering on the team as they practiced and bragging on their own kids as well as others.... God in heaven is our father.  Why would we ever think he doesn't want the best for us?  When we grow as a Christian we begin to see Jesus wants us to promote others and their children like we do our own... Do we?  Is that part of the problem?
