Rita Moreno shares fascinating details about her acting career during a replay of her conversation with Robert Osborne, host of Turner Classic Movies. Rita won an Oscar for West Side Story, and she is this year’s Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Although originally a guest on an episode celebrating a Singin’ in the Rain anniversary, she talks about many of her other showbiz accomplishments in this lively discussion. Because Rita and Robert hadn’t met each other before, they definitely make the most of their time together here!

Rita’s Oscar statuette never gets lonely, for the acclaimed actress also has a Golden Globe, a Grammy, a Tony, and two Emmys. No wonder the Screen Actors Guild chose her for a Lifetime Achievement Award! She’s a versatile artist who can sing, dance, and do comedy and drama equally well. The Internet Movie Data Base lists over 140 film and TV acting credits for Rita. In addition to West Side Story and Singin’ in the Rain, she’s appeared in such films as The King and I, Carnal Knowledge, Marlowe, The Four Seasons, The Ritz, Blue Moon, and The Toast of New Orleans . Her two Emmys were awarded for outstanding work on The Muppet Show and The Rockford Files. Her autobiography Rita Moreno: A Memoir, published last year, received rave reviews.

Also joining in the fun during this episode are film historian James Colt Harrison and Diana Saenger from Classic Movie Guide.
