I'm infinitely jealous of people who know how to play an instrument. My friend Lolly Allen is a professional vibraphonist and jazz musician. So cool! She writes, sings, and plays her own music. She talks about how her love for a toy as a child got her interested in music, and how her parents fostered that interested throughout college and beyond. This is a great example of a woman who is making her own way in the predominately masculine world of jazz and carving her own path. Plus we talk about the state of music in general today, my current audition situation, and a special guest stops by.
