The Buddha often compared the mind to flame. In several places he referred to the liberated being as having "the mind like fire unbound." He also taught that a sentient being is comprised of five processes, or Skandhas, (also known as aggregates) and that these processes function together to create the individual. Tonight we continue a discussion of the fundamental ideas of Buddhism, beginning with the skandhas and moving on to the 12 links of dependent origination, and how kamma-vipaka influences our rebirths.
