The Biz With D: Interview BAAM! x Jc Jones x Chris Johnson

BAAM! is an awesome new band that consists of seven members with six of them being conservatory-trained jazz musicians. Combine that with their love of indie-rock and you have a whole new twist on the indie-rock genre. With many of them attending the prestigious Peabody Conservatory and others The Manhattan School of Music and NYU these guys have gotten the chance to play with some of the best including Jimmy Heath of the Legendary Heath Brothers, Mulgrew  Miller, and John Abercrombie to name a few. BAAM! has a new single coming out December 3rd titled, “For A Moment” and an EP due for release early next year.

Consisting of two guitars, a bass, drums, trumpet, tenor-saxophone and alto-saxophone the guys of BAAM! create sounds that infuse rocking dance numbers with a funky jazz twist making their tunes fun, danceable and catchy. They have played all over NYC at venues such as The Blue Note, The Music Hall of Williamsburg, Webster Hall and The Kennedy Center making a name for themselves around NYC.
