One of the coolest things about what I do, is that I meet really cool people doing really cool stuff. Joy Stoddard, Director, Partnership Development and Internal Programs at Whole Planet Foundation (WPF) is definitely one of these people for me. Upon arriving to Whole Planet Foundation’s head office, one is immediately taken back by the huge murals displaying photographs of families around the world benefiting from microloans which Whole Planet Foundations issues to microfinance institutions globally. My interview with Joy touches on various aspects from defining microcredit loans and their benefits to the current Team Member Volunteer Program which Whole Foods Market offers to their employees, allowing employees to do volunteer work in countries such as Costa Rica and Guatemala. One of the really extraordinary aspects of this program is that employees are given an opportunity first hand to see and experience the communities these microloans are benefiting and in several cases, coming back home and working on various campaigns to bring awareness to these projects. This is just such as phenomenal approach illustrating corporate social responsibility and the huge impact it has with employees. Take a listen to my interview with Joy and don’t forget to vote in your favorite story.
