MAKE ME HAPPY! Should you make yourself happy or should you make other people?

MAKE ME HAPPY! Should you make yourself happy or should you make other people? 

IF YOUR REWARDS IN LIFE EQUAL YOUR SERVICE TO OTHERS............should we spend our lives making other people happy? 

I was talking to a client today who told me... "your job is to make me happy".
I was taken aback, but responded "my job is to give your the tools to make yourself wealthy, healthy and wise"
I feel a bit guilty, and I feel that I shouldn't. I'm amazed that a client would tell me that my job is to make them happy.
