Romance Waddington was born in Lusaka Zambia.. Her mother died when she was 7 which had a real lasting impact in her life.  Romance withdrew into herself and drew solace from music. She began writing songs from the age of 13 being inspired by many artists such as, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Miriam Makeba, Brenda Fassie, Prince and many others. At the age of 18 she moved to Tanzania to study Wildlife Management, temporarily putting her passion for music on hold. Romance traveled to England in 1993 and began her family. Romance believes in and therefore writes about social justice issues as well as about love, sadness, loneliness and happiness.

Ms. Waddington has volunteered for her husband’s charity War Child and is also a founding
member of a charity called MICAIA which is based in Mozambique. This charity
looks at helping local people achieve prosperity in a sustainable
world. It also focuses on helping young people and giving them opportunities to generate income for their families.

The inspiration for her original tune "Feels Like” came from her husband’s recent trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Romance Waddington has for the last 2 years been putting together a band called
SoulFunkful, which is gradually getting the recognition they deserve as a fresh Soul/Funk band in a city
where Heavy Metal/Indie/Cover acts are plentiful.

Her goal is to be able to use her music to raise awareness of the issues children and young
people that War Child/MICAIA and various other charities around the
world deal with. She is passionate about children's  rights and their right to be protected.
