Can you imagine feeding hungry children across the world?

Rescuing African civil war refugees from slavery?

Or working together to eradicate polio?

That's what ordinary people are doing... through the world's FIRST service club -- the Rotary, formed on Feb.23, 1905, in Chicago, by Paul Harris, an attorney who just wanted to capture in a professional club the same friendly spirit he felt in the small towns of his youth.

Rotary International now has 1.2 million Rotarian members, spanning more than 200 countries and 32,000 clubs.  What goes on behind the scenes?  What is the code of ethics that propels them forward?  Who can become a member?  And what service projects are being done locally?

We'll get the inside stroy from Vera Mayer, Past President of the Northbrook Rotary.  She'll share the Rotary's mission, her own reason behind joining the Rotary, and the impact that is being made locally that touches lives around the world.  A surprise guest speaker may also be joining us.
