Elle magazine calls Lita Ford “one of the greatest female electric guitar players to ever pick up the instrument." Guitar World magazine hails her as a 'legendary metal icon," and in 2014 when Guitar Player inducted her into their hall of fame of guitar greats they declared “She is as badass as ever.”  British-born Ford is an American rock guitarist, actress, vocalist and songwriter who was the lead guitarist for The Runaways in the late 1970s before embarking on a solo career in the 1980s. Her fourth solo album "Lita" (1988) went platinum, and Guitar magazine voted her Best Female Guitarist (1989).

Ford's memoir, "Living Like a Runaway," shares details of Lita’s dramatic personal story. Life as a woman in the male-dominated rock scene was never easy, a constant battle with the music establishment. After a dramatic and emotional personal odyssey, Lita picked up her guitar and stormed back to the stage.  The introduction was written by her good friend Dee Snider, with whom she has frequently shared a concert-stage; for this reason, and to Lita's delight, fans have affectionately nicknamed her "Twisted Sister's Twisted Sister."  Ford is currently on tour in the US and the crowds are showing up and showing the love!
