Sankofa-Ashe' aka The Poetic Rap Bruja hails from originally from Long Beach California, also lived in the DMV area and is first generation born in the United States to an immigrant family from Central America. Sankofa-Ashe grew up with many influences in music from all genres and cultural music that she draws inspiration from. She wrote her first rap at 8 years old, often writing short stories, poems, and doing arts and crafts to express herself, as it wasnt easy for her to express herself freely at times. This stopped and continued throughout her life, at 14 she decided to pick up the pen again and write raps, stories depicting where she wanted to be and what she wanted to do with her life.
