Reasons Why to Request Medical Records

It is important for you to know what information has been gathered about you to be handed on to other doctors. I could give you four medical records of my own from four different doctors and you wouldn't know each waa about the same person! It is important to make corrections and submit them to the doctors for change. You need to see in writing what was suggested you do to improve your situation. Did you understand correctly what the doctor told you? What are the diagnoses? Be sure to check them as often there are mistakes. Go over test results. Did the doctor explain them fully to you? Do you have questions? Is your doctor telling you the truth? I find complete disclosure lacking. Medical records may indicate positive test results that should receive further investigation.
