In Luke 19, When Jesus came by a tree, he looked up and saw Zacchaeus, a tax-collector and called him by name! “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick! Come down! For I am going to be a guest in your home today!” Zacchaeus hurriedly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. But the crowds were displeased. "Jesus has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled. Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “Sir, from now on I will give half my wealth to the poor, and if I find I have overcharged anyone on his taxes, I will penalize myself by giving him back four times as much!” Jesus told Zacchaeus, “This shows that salvation has come to this home today. This man was one of the lost sons of Abraham, and I, the Messiah,* have come to search for and to save such souls as his.” FRIENDS, JESUS KNEW WHO ZACCHAEUS WAS! JESUS CALLED HIM OUT OF THE WORLD AND ACCEPTED HIM AS A LOST SON! FRIENDS WE ARE ALL LOST UNTIL WE FIND JESUS! JESUS PICKS PEOPLE WHO HAVE INCREDIBLE TESTIMONIES TO SERVE HIM. THERE IS NO SIN TOO BAD FOR JESUS TO FORGIVE! HE FORGAVE AT THE CROSS AND HE WILL CONTINUE TO FORGIVE ALL WHO REPENT (TURN AWAY FROM SIN) AND CALL UPON THE NAME OF JESUS! John 15:16 “You didn’t choose me! I chose you! I appointed you to go and produce lovely fruit always, so that no matter what you ask for from the Father, using my name, he will give it to you.
