Those who urge us to be realistic are most often just trying to get us to accept their version of reality. While its healthy to stay open to suggestions, we should become aware of the fact that sometimes what may sound like “good advice” is nothing more than someone’s personal preference. The question arises do we even know how to distinguish between the two not only when we receive it but also for when we offer it to another. Suggestion can be a powerful tool for manipulation, without self awareness,  self interest can creep in, most often when we do not follow our intuition at the end of the day, we are the ones disappointed.

The goal is to try to be conscious of whether or not we are actually trying to help someone, or trying instead to silence them and convince them to do what we would do (or what we want them to do). We all know what it feels like to have those who are closest to us offer their perspective or try to make sense of things, we value what they have to say deeply, but how often does our guts tell us different and we find ourselves torn in between decision making. No one can truly understand or rationalize anyone's actions or life path; we truly are our own greatest light full of answers.
