The Mother Wisdom Roundtable

Join host Nesheba of E-SPirit E in a weekly discussion with a panel of mature mothers and grandmothers as they weigh in on various topics, problems and challenges affecting our  communities. Each of our panelists bring not only their insight and wisdom but also will share their experiences in raising a family both their own and extended, and represent the mother spirit some say is missing in todays culture.

Today the discussion will revolve around the education "crisis" going on across the country. Why has the public education failed? Why do teachers seem to have their hands tied when it comes to doing what it is teachers are supposed to do? Why has going to school become a "dangerous" environment instead of a learning environment in some areas? What role do the parents have and has that role been diminished or tainted?

Is there a plot , plan, or scheme to "dumb down" the youth and if so , what are some viable options and alternatives for those who want more than bureaucrats and pencil pushers seem to be mandating. Are private schools, charter schools, enrichment programs and home schools the answer or is there something else that can be done with the public school system or is public schooling obsolete?
