Mama Cruz talks to Al Magaw from Spirit of the North Kennels in Salmo, BC

Al Magaw from Spirit of the North kennels in Salmo BC is a legend among many mushers, not just for his longevity in a sport we love, but his daily life living with these maginifcent sled dogs he adores. Al has, for lack of a better term, a "natural" skill with dogs, that has shone through his career. This ability has led to his work with 3rd strike dogs: Dogs who have behavioral problems so servere that their last chance is Mr. Magaw's help. 

And help they get. 

Al will talk to us about some of his clients, and give insight to correciton of problems ranging from simple to the harder cases he's had. We will of course talk mushing and living this mushing lifestyle before it was "cool," and what these sled dogs have taught him over the years.
