Beth O'Dell created a website to assist those in need of immediate, temporary financial assistance through micro giving. Gifters donate $5 through the individuals' paypal accounts through our site. www.MicroGivingWorks.com

Beth updated her Facebook status, asking friends & associates to send her $5.00 to assist  her through a temporary cash flow challenge, she was not prepared for the wave of generosity that headed toward her. She was hoping for enough to cover the months rent and one late car payment.  

Friends shared her story with friends and it spread across the intertwined communities of friends on Facebook and beyond.  Many sent more than $5, and that she had not expected.  People who seemed to have less than her somehow managed to share $5.00 with her. Within a matter of 2-3 days her immediate need was met.  Within a week, the 2 remaining past due car payments were covered along with a couple of other utility bills. I knew this was the start of a movement of generosity, little acts of philanthropy happening all over.
