Special Sunday Segment: Let's discuss - For colored girls based on a play called for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is Enuf. The story is about the lives of several women who stand in front of an audience and tell their stories wrapped in flowers. Tyler Perry, who directed the movie, found a way to create a storyline between women pasting parts of their lives and connecting them. Although this was a movie, many could relate to what these women encountered. Ladies, if you have not seen this movie - please do so this weekend, as I would love to hear from you. For those that have seen it, I am sure you saw something in yourself in one (or more) of those characters. If not, I am sure you know a woman that has lived or is currently living in a similar situation. I have talked to several women about this movie and have received mixed reviews. Some women loved it and some did not connect with any of the characters and felt the movie was extreme. I want to hear from you! Sunday, we will discuss "life" and the ups and downs women encounter and what we can do to prevent what was displayed in the movie. We will also talk about our young girls in today's society. The pregnancy rates continue to escalate and their self-esteem continues to deteriorate. What are we going to do? Our girls are suffering and we must take action. What can we do to develop and build their self-esteem so they do not emulate the characters in the movie? I want to hear from you! Thank you for the support. Dr. Wendy - www.drwendyjohnson.com
