The idea of Team David was born on a Tuesday, November 2011 in Newark, New Jersey, when the founders Ha-san Smith and Donovan Jackson decided to come together for a long overdue writing session.   The session went so well that the two decided to include a view more musical friends that following Tuesday and then the next Tuesday until before long the idea of Team David became a movement made up of five musicians and four vocalists.  Overtime schedules began to conflict causing the founders to make the difficult decision to replace some of the group original members with others that seemed to be the perfect fit.  With personnel in place Team David felt that there was no stopping, they went on to record their first album entitled “Here I Am”.  Often complimented for their smooth and jazzy sound Donovan Jackson, Ha-san Smith, Melvin Smith, Vince Jackson, Lonnie Christian, Omar Smith, Jose Echevarria, Thomas Hawkins and Zal Walton also known as “Team David” signed their first major recording deal with Malaco Music Group in November 2013.  Team David album”Here I Am was released worldwide August 5, 2014.
