Photobucket Bio: Killa Kel was born and raised in Houston, TX, by her mother and father in 5th Ward, aka Da Nickel, Kel has always had a love for music. Her first inspiration to be a performer came at age 7 from watching LL Cool J’s video “I’m Bad.” She participated in modeling and theatre as a child but seemed to be more interested in sports. After graduating from High School, she went on to attend Texas A&M University. In college she started to focus on music and writing raps again. At a local studio on the south side of Houston, TX, she met Mike aka “Gunna”, of Treehouse Records, he liked her rhymes so they exchanged personal info and he invited her to one of their studio sessions. That was Kel’s first time doing a professional recording and she has been addicted ever since. She continued to record with Treehouse Records for about 5 years, being featured on mixtapes like Gunna’s “Detention Day One” and the Treehouse compilation CD. Kel went overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan to work and decided to start a record company with business partner and cousin, Paul Tatum aka Mr. C.E.O. Since the birth of the “The Square Business Records & Entertainment” in July of 07, Kelli has recorded a mixtape entitled Iraq Money. She is currently working on an original album and a mixtape with a release date later in 2009. Kel is influenced by other rappers like MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Jay-Z, Scarface, UGK, T.I., Lil Wayne and 50 Cent. She continues to write and perfect her skills hoping to capture a bigger audience. Stay tuned to what Killa Kel is doing, and watch out for the album and mixtapes later this year.
