Book Talk Radio with your host Lawrence J. King would like to welcome J.A.Roberts to our show. An Amazingly talented artist and maker of Shaman Sculptures and fine Jewelry. J.A. Roberts says she had a fortunate upbringing, being surrounded by various artists and designers within her family. There were many opportunities in Chicago, where she was raised, to get a foothold in art. J.A Roberts started after university, opening a store on the north side with her own clothing and jewelry lines. She has continued designing jewelry for over 20 years now. During that time, J.A. Roberts also collected a variety of materials and studied nature expecting at some point to create her mixed media pieces. Over the past few years, she has been assembling all of her unique finds in a way that captures the amazing beauty and deeper meaning that is in our natural world. Central to her work is the idea of the life cycles of birth, maturation and death, evolution and continuance. In addition, each piece is incorporated with thoughtfulness to the messages or teachings that can be gleaned from the plant, animal or mineral and its purpose and place on earth.
