Growing old - together!

Beverly Suek says:“My mother remarried at 80 and had six glorious years with her new partner—until she had a stroke. She needed care—physical care. The choices were a private facility where both could live, for $6,000 a month, or subsidized care, where she would be institutionally separated from the love of her life. They didn’t have $6,000 a month, so he lived in one place and she lived in another.” These words - along with the rest of Beverly Suek’s article for Herizons magazine made my ears perk up and I invited her to come chat with me and tell us more... including what she is doing about this - which it turns out, is quite a bit.
