Lady Father on Life

This is her story - chronicling her perilous journey through the ordination process in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia in the 1980's, when women were not encouraged to apply, nor were they welcome. Her Bishop, the Rt. Rev. C Charles Vache' was an adamanant opponent to women's ordination and he told Susan that he could not ordain her, but in an unprecedented "about-face," he not only signed her application to seminary but helped her arrange financial aid and supported her throughout her three years in seminary.
