Join the Lady Father and JennyO. every Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm for discussions on "life" and readings from the Rev. Susan Bowman's memoir, "Lady Father." This is her story - chronicling her perilous journey through the ordination process in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia in the 1980's, when women were not encouraged to apply, nor were they welcome. Her Bishop, the Rt. Rev. C Charles Vache' was an adamanant opponent to women's ordination and he told Susan that he could not ordain her, but in an unprecedented "about-face," he not only signed her application to seminary but helped her arrange financial aid and supported her throughout her three years in seminary.

His complete "turn-around" is history in the Diocese of Southern Virginia and his part in Susan's story is legendary in the Episcopal Church.
