Worship Your Ancestors! Really?

We have heard sayings like, "Our ancestors are speaking to us."  Worship the ancestors! Do you really know who your ancestors were? What was there conduct like towards the Most High (Al-Ala)? Were they polythiest or monotheist? Were they good or bad? Did you know there are 7,400 different tribes in Africa and counting? What is African tradition and what tradition do you follow? Should we pour a libation on that? Do we do as the Egyptians did?
