Scripture and Lying #5

Why does God consider it a sin to lie? This is a very weighty and oft misunderstood concept, particularly in our day and age when we believe the end justifies the means. A recent facebook post from a well meaning Christian friend authoritatively read "that was the old Bible, times have changed" -- Times may have changed, but a sin is still a sin. Last week we looked at Scripture which clearly identified lying as a sin. This morning we review WHY lying is a sin, and we try to answer the question of whether it is every acceptable to lie. And, finally, if you lie, now what?
