MARISSA MONTEILH (MON -TAY), a former model, television news reporter, and commercial actress, originally self-published her first book, May December Souls, in November 2000. By the following March, Marissa signed a two book deal with Harper Collins, who re-released May December Souls in March 2002, and then released her second book, The Chocolate Ship, in January of 2003. Part two of The Chocolate Ship, called Love Overboard, is in the works! In June 2003, Marissa inked another deal with HarperCollins for her third title, Hot Boyz, the dramatic story of three well-to-do brothers who experience life's ups and downs while living in an upscale neighborhood in Los Angeles. Hot Boyz was released in May 2004, and finally, after having been sold out, the mass-market version of Hot Boyz (with a hot new cover) hits shelves on February 1, 2007. In July 2004, Marissa signed a two-book deal with Kensington Books. The first work, Make Me Hot, which was a nominee for the 2006 African American Literary Award, is the nip-tuck story of Morgan Bayley's fervent desire to be pretty. Make Me Hot was released in January 2006 through Kensington's Dafina imprint. The second title, Dr. Feelgood, is the story of a heart breaking heart surgeon who gets a taste of his own medicine. Dr. Feelgood hits the shelves January 2007 and is sure to make you feel – real good! In 2006, Marissa contributed a story called Mariah’s Gotta Have It, to an erotica anthology titled Morning, Noon, and Night: Can’t Get Enough. Those of you who want to read about the between-the-sheets experiences of Mariah and Malik from May December Souls won't want to miss this one. And, Marissa has much more erotica to come . . . so stay tuned! Marissa contributes to various magazines, is a member of the L.A. Black Writers and the Antelope Valley Writers Group, mentors new writers who desire to self-publish, and teaches writing classes in her spare time. She also serves as a judge in the Vintage Inspirations Writing
