The current incarnation of Ripped was formed in 2008. Steve Keller and Brian McGee are the only members from the first go-round, circa 1990-92, which found the band as a half-cover/half original act. The band has been compared to early Aerosmith, Foghat & Lynyrd Skynyrd because of its two-guitar interplay, but includes a modern metal-edge. Singer Steve Sroczynski has previously been heard worldwide as the singer for Slaughter House, who released two albums on Metal Blade in the early 1990’s. Guitarist Steve Keller is the founding member of Ripped, and the only one to play every gig with the band. Keller’s early bands included Indulgence & Rated X. Guitarist Brian McGee joined in 1990, when he and Keller met at a bar and started talking music. Brian has also performed with Billy Spanton & the Rambling Train, and Doghouse Swine. Bassist Jack France has performed with many acts all over the Northeast. He was even in the Turtles for awhile. Drummer Jeff Kelly has played with Nitelife, which featured well-known NYC guitarist, the late Gordon Gaines. Ripped has also used the services drummer Charlie Tappan on numerous gigs and sessions. Charlie has performed with Dramarama, In Color & No Time Lost. The band has played at numerous venues, including Otto’s Shrunken Head, NYC; The Saint, Asbury Park, NJ; Dingbatz, Clifton, NJ; Crossroads, Garwood, NJ; High Velocity, Beachwood, NJ; The Irish, Kearny, NJ and all over NJ. Ripped has received airplay and been interviewed on Nightmares with Malice Cooper; The Wizeguyz Show; The Scott Rox Show & The Rockin’ Tommy Show.  Be sure to pick up a copy of their album 'King of the World' and visit www.reverbnation.com/rippednj
