Joy because as they exhibit the particular qualities that Paul described (a steady faith, continuous love for others, regular actions that verify that love, a hope that was built upon their reception of the gospel which led to an inner change and transformation, and steadfast determination in the face of struggle), they would prove to be faithful servants of God in whom God would be well pleased.
