America understands the child support system to have been designed to mandate parents who refuse to do their part in providing for the needs of their children. On the surface, it sounds great, feasible, sensible. If executed propery, it is a major help to the thousands of single parents who had difficulty getting cooperation from an absent parent or extenuating circumstances preventing contact between the parents. But what supposedly has been the protective net for our children's welfare has been used as vindictive weapons against undeserving parents by both government and some custodial parents alike, and abuse of the funds by unscrupulous custodial parents have taken the purpose of child support to a different level--diminishing the entire function of the system. Should the child support agencies revamp the system overall to put a stop to the abuse of the system? Or should they specifically require the violators to face the music? Call in tonight at 10:30 PM EST by calling 347-327-9967.
