SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Tamir Rice was a 12-yr-old boy brandishing a toy gun in an empty playground in Cleveland, Ohio when 911 was called. Although there is nothing threatening about the boy's physical appearanace, nor was there any signs of threatening behavior wither before or after the police arrived, Tamir was almost instantaneously shot to death when they arrived. on the other hand, Joseph Houseman, a 63-year-old Caucasian male who was drunk, disorderly and waving both a real machine gun as well as directing the police toward his genitals was not apprehended or penalized for his actions. Additionally, young Tamir's father's history of domestic violence and his movement toward his toy gun was mentioned in the police's attempts to justify murdering the pre-teen while the media branded the older intoxicated man a herodefending his right to bear arms. Many other cases involving blatant police infractions against the public, despite their race, will be touched on tonight. The System of American police forces ' mentality toward Black suspects as opposed to their White counterparts remains clear, as is the need for Black America to become a system of self-preserving mentality.
