Black empowerment in today's society seems to be a formula whose contents are a recipe for disaster. In no way is this due to inability on the part of African-Americans to make things happen, but more so to willful ignorance of the political and social issues which have been masked to hide in plain sight. Things such as the effects of the Zimmerman verdict, which seemed to focus more on highlighting limitations of a witness rather than the content of the testimony to support the goal of obtaining justice in the case. What did this mean for the Black community and how does it affect our abilit to empower itself? Join us as we interview Professor Carl Tone Jones, of Philadelphia, PA who puts his spin on how things like the Zimmerman verdict affects the Black community in ways far beyond the obvious anger.
