To a point, image is important. We are taught to have manners, groom our appearances, avoid certain types of language, etc. We are taught that different settings calls for different behaviors, and these are very important basics to abide by. But what happens when the "what-you-see" mentality becomes the only focus in families? When one child is led to believe that he or she doesn't "fit the bill" the way they are? Or when a parent begins to feel that they, too need to alter their appearance to fit in? How are families affected when too much focus is placed on image?
