The fast food business is one of the most grueling and demanding aspects of the public service industry. Workers serve thousands of strangers in an eight-hour shift, sometimes with no thank you's. Normally, employees are allowed meals from where they work at a discounted price. However, for those that can't afford even the discount, or are struggling, the prepared foods that are left unsold at the end of the night, counted as waste are off-limits are off-limits to the workers, but give to the trash. If employees are caught taking home these foods, they are reprimanded or terminated. Is this a fair practice?
