Is Satan's name Lucifer?

Growing up in church we learned that Lucifer was satan's name and he was the "anointed cherub that covered." Sound familiar? It is believed before he "fell" from heaven his "job" was music and he was in charge of the choir.  How did they get this wrong? Who taught this misnomer? Who are better yet what is satan, the devil aka Lucifer? Why is he here on earth? Why does he keep enticing mankind to sin? These are some of the questions that we will attempt to answer by giving you scripture in context. No need to be embarrassed because I too thought for over 40 years that scripture was right. Whenever there's a mist in the pulpit there will always be a FOG in the pew! Hosea 4:6 plainly revealed that our problem is not satan but ignorance of YHVH's Word. The language, right translation and the historical facts are crucial at arriving to The Truth! This prophet declared YHVH'S aka God's people would be destroyed for their lack of knowledge and since they've rejected knowledge YHVH would reject them and their children from being priest unto Him.

In the 1950s a group of protestant scholastics endorsed a system called Proof Texting. They taught that the Word of God was and is in itself His Word irrespective of context. By the 1800s John Nelson Darby "raised Proof Texting to an art" and it wasn't long before every theological seminary used this method of studying God's word. We are ALL guilty of this tragic dilemma. We open the Bible find a scripture perhaps by word association and then TEACH it! Wrong, Wrong Wrong! It is a known fact all doctrinal error is one of three things. a.)It's either truth perverted; b.) truth disproportionately held and taught; c) or truth divided wrong." Such is the tragedy of most religions particularly christianity. Most Pastors, Evangelist and Teachers (PET) believe Isaiah 14:12 & Ezekiel 28:14 is a description of satan. Check it out!
