Spirituality for Kids and Youth

Bernadete Leal is interviewed by Kardec Radio to explain how to teach Spiritism to children and youth!

Bernadete Leal (BA, M.Ed.) was born and raised in Brazil and has been working with Spiritism for more than 20 years. She studied Spiritist Philosophy at FEESP (Spiritist Federation of the State of Sao Paulo). She moved to San Diego, California, in 1996 and has been helping to disseminate the Spiritist ideas in English.  She is a mother of a teenager daughter and has a CA Multiple Subject teaching credential. Her teachings are inspired by her studies of Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf School) and the education of the hands, heart, and head. She has been working with children and teenagers in the US on spiritual teachings for many years and she is a former Youth Director at the Unity Church of El Cajon, CA.

Bernadete Leal is currently a board member of the Spiritist Society of San Diego and the Coordinator of the YSE (Youth Spiritist Education): a subdivision of the United States Spiritist Council, developing a Children’s Spiritist Lesson Plan Book. Since 2009, she has been in charge of the Youth Program at the US Spiritist Symposia. She is also a regular contributor to the Kardecradio with the YES segment answering questions to parents and educators on how to bring spiritual awareness and Spiritist teachings to their children. She has been supporting the youth program of Spiritist Centers in the US through workshops and lectures on education. Bernadete has a passion for music and is a singer and song writer performing and speaking at local churches and centers.
