For the first time I saw Chris Rocks documentary about black women, their hair, and the hair weave industry titled "GOOD HAIR". In it, Rock explores what the psyche of black women is today when it comes to their hair, and he also explores just how profitable the hair weave industry is. I couldn't help but watch in awe as some of Hollywood leading ladies and entertainers like Nia Long, Eve and more sat in the interview seat and talked. It dawned on me just how important a black womans hair really is to them. When you think about it, there is NOTHING on their body that gets more attention, spent more time grooming, and more money on maintaining. Then there is the fact that MOST of them DO NOT even wear their natural hair. No, MOST of them wear hair weave. And hair weave is expensive....very expensive! The fashion and entertainment industry has shunned the natural hair of black women. It is not considered attractive or profitable to the hair industry. Hair weave shops spends BILLIONS of dollars a year on real human hair from other ethnicities like Indian (from INDIA) hair, but as shown in Rocks movie, you cant even GIVE AWAY the natural hair of black people. This posed me to ask some serious questions about us as a people, our women, what we put up with as men, fashion, and black women sense of identity:

1) Why do you think MAJORITY of black women put so much importance, money and time into their hair, even more so buying weave and keeping their hair anything but natural?

2) Hair weave is a BILLION dollar industry, we make almost NO money from as black people, do you think this is a problem?

3) Do you think wearing weave is a FALSE representation?

4) Do you know any women that do not participate in certain activities, all because of their hair? What are they? Is this a bad thing?

5) Ladies has your hair, or fellas has your woman hair in anyway ever effected your sex life?
