I recently talked to a friend of mine who said they got hurt really bad in their last relationship. So much that they don't think they will ever love again. They said they put up a wall around their heart. They said they are "protecting their feelings". Well we all know the old saying, if you build a wall to keep others out, you may in fact make yourself a prisoner! I am a firm believer in this age old saying because I have seen it literally ruin people. I know people who had walls up so high and so thick that it CHANGED THE PERSON THEY REALLY ARE! As kids we are taught "when you fall off a bike get back up and try it again until you get it right". We teach this simple but necessary life principle to our kids all the time because we KNOW life was meant to be lived in that fashion. But, somewhere along the line when it comes to love and getting hurt in past relationships we have become accustom to just staying on the ground one would say. Instead of saying that relationship was bad but you gotta try again until you get a good one, WE SAY TO HELL WITH IT AND PUT UP WALLS. We all know that WOMEN are the ones who do this more often, but if the situation was bad enough a man will too. A gentleman can become a man who thinks bit**es aint shit but hos and tricks, and a nice caring female can adopt a "men aint shit but dogs" policy (which nowadays can lead to her having a girlfriend in the future!) So here goes: do you think it's is wise to put up walls around your heart if you been hurt? Have you done this, do you have a wall now or had one in the past? If you did how did someone get through it? Do you think most people who engage in male/female bashing have this wall up? Have you ever tried to date someone with a wall up and it didnt work out because of it? Have YOU ever been responsible for someone putting up a wall? Do you think these walls change people's TRUE personality? Do you know anyone who has been changed by a wall?
