The recent execution of Troy Davis in Georgia has focused attention on wrongful murder convictions.  Two men convicted of murder in North Carolina were recently released after another man confessed to the murder and DNA tests pointed to other suspects.  However, the men convicted of the slaying had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.  Was police misconduct or corruption a factor in these wrongful convictions?
