This week has arguably been one of the most influential in the NBA. Yesterday, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Los Angles Clippers Owner Donald Sterling, potentially soon to be former owner, from the NBA for life and fined him $2.5 million, the maximum fine possible. Silver also said that he would be diligent in his efforts to force Sterling to sell the Clippers team by allowing the other league owners to take it to a vote.

The league requires a three-quarters majority to force an owner to sell.

All this because of a taped conversation TMZ released last week where Sterling is heard making racist comments to his girlfriend, Vanessa Stiviano, about the league, including specific comments about former player Magic Johnson and his association with Stiviano. Even though the decision has brought much needed closure for many players, especially the entire Clippers team, word on the street or in the sports world is that players are pressuring the league the finish the job, and fast.
