Simple Awakening Tools! Carlo Ami

Hi. I'm Carlo Ami. I have no interest in being your guru. My intent with my work, if you are receptive, is to offer tools that will help you discover that you are your own guru.

While I am now thankful for every experience I have had---and I have had many wonderfully enjoyable experiences-- a lot of the previous times in my life were a hellish set of opportunities to move beyond wallowing in life or fighting against its flow.

I remember early on wondering how or why I landed on this strange planet in which so many people found it necessary to be angry, abusive and manipulative with each other. I grew up in a chaotic, edgy, judgemental, emotionally violent home. We pretended to be the All-American happy family. We were all just pissed off...and quite skilled at hiding it from the rest of the world.

I spent a lot of my early life alone, depressed, angry and feeling harshly judged by nearly everybody and by God. Decades into adulthood, I was still in the process of letting go of the anger, futility and sense of separation.

We all have big moments of arriving at another level along the path. For me one was realizing that I had gotten so used to being abandoned that I had abandoned myself.

My truth: You will have your next big moment. The wisdom of your responses along the way determines how soon it will be.

In 1999, I had a wonderful experience in the desert that set me upon a new course. From within or above, whatever it might be, I was given the title of the first book I would write, a new pen name, and the central aspects of the book. It was clear that I was to write this book as a practice in serving myself and that I was to share what I would write with those who were receptive. This is how I experienced it.
